About V. I. Reed & Cane,
Basketweaving Suppliers

Linda Hebert wove her first basket in an arts & crafts session as a   summer day camper. She was hooked! No other basket weaving opportunities presented themselves until 1978, when she took a basketweaving class at Castle Hill Center for the Arts in Truro, Mass. Her teacher was Osma Gallinger Tod, author of Earth Basketry.
Three years, and many baskets, later, Linda was designing and teaching classes in her "Basketry Studio A" studio on Cape Cod. This led to the V. I. Reed & Cane supply catalog- the Hebert's family business.

www.basketweaving.com went online in 1997, and has been adding customer service features constantly since that time: twice montly newsletters, Q&As, free instructions, and much more.

At V. I. Reed & Cane, we're proud of the superior quality of our kits & materials, and we know that you'll enjoy our Quick, Friendly Service. All orders usually go out within 24 hours, and we're always happy to answer your questions!

Located in the Ozark Mountains of Northwest Arkansas, V. I. Reed & Cane is dedicated to continuing the local traditions of traditional and modern basket making and seat weaving.

From Linda: "Message Board buddies on AOL's Basket making board  have gotten  me thinking a lot lately about Osma and my first basket weaving experiences. I dug out some of my favorite photos of those days and here they are..."          Click on thumbnails to view close-ups. Photos copyright Linda Hebert.
